This Album cover caught my eye. Took a peek at the mix. It’s interesting. It’s different. The cover fits the mood well.

I like it.

Collab X

It seems like nowadays, the best way to get your name out there in fashion, music, food, anything that involves creativity is to put yourself in some type of collaboration.  While looking through the web finding inspiration for a blog post, I found these collabs.  Puts a second umph when people say, great minds think alike!

Stella McCarttney x Kids Gap [these kids are so darn cute! photo credit: gap.com ]

Jimmy Choo x H& M [photo credit:  nitrolicious.com]

Beyonce x Lady Gaga [click on the picture to access the video on youtube]

I have to admit I expected more from the above collaboration, but maybe we shall wait for their next project???

Funkanometry Sock Hop 2009

I attended Funkanometry San Francisco’s Sockhop this weekend and was able to take a couple shots during the tech rehearsals.  This is the second year for funks hosting this dance extravaganza event.  For all of the showcasing teams, spanning from East Coast to West Coast, the weekend is filled with tours of San Francisco, partying and after partying at the Regency Center,  meeting all the other dance crews, reuniting with old friends and exploring the restaurants of Polk Street.  I look forward to attending this event yearly because it is in the middle of summer and dancers are on the lookout for a chill performance opportunity.  The performers displayed in the video below are from:  BlackOut (Boston), Breed(Los Angeles), Kaba Modern (UC Irvine), Fresh Dance Company (New Jersey) and DeCadence (UC Berkeley).  Enjoy!

Vodpod videos no longer available.

THE KING OF POP

Apologies for the re-post, but I’m seriously in a state of shock right now.

I could care less about how people have judged MJ in his darker years and can only live to appreciate the true talent and pure inspiration he has lived to be.

May you rest in peace Michael.

San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival – August 28-30, 2009

One day tickets will be out soon!  For those just as undecided as I am, this is your time to cop the one day tickets and save the mulla from the cost of a 3 day pass.

But if you’re only up for the free ish, check out the Stern Grove Festival.  I hope to check out Les Nubians who will be performing Sunday, June 28th.  Here is a video clip if you have no idea who Les Nubians is.  They are a duo of sisters with a nice, soulful, french sound.
